The following is provided to help you prepare your parish capital campaign.  It is advisable to make contact with the office of Stewardship and mission Advancement to assist you with all phases of your campaign.

Before getting started, it is important that you keep in mind the following points:

  • Your pastor must be visible and involved
  • Understand the culture of the parish before you begin
  • Stay organized, get volunteers and or staff you may need
  • Certain things must always be done: communication and finances
  • Be prompt in saying thank you.  You can’t thank people enough
  • Keep spirituality in the campaign
  • Pray and keep perspective
  • All campaign volunteers and committee members should be the first to make a pledge.  100% participation
  • Make sure Building Fund envelopes are in your parish’s regular packet of contribution envelopes
  • Stress giving to a capital campaign is over and above your regular giving and it should be a sacrifice
  • Keep in mind a successful campaign can expect to raise 2.5 times the annual budget.
