Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (R.C.I.A.)

In the summer of 2009, Bishop Guglielmone approved a set of guidelines for “The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults in the Diocese of Charleston.” This is available on the Website in booklet form. It offers general principles for assisting inquirers into the Catholic faith, requirements for those seeking full initiation into the Church, the sequence of preparation and rites, characteristics of those serving as sponsors and as catechists, and available resources for catechumens, candidates, and their instructors.
