Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary for World Peace (Excerpted from Corpus Christi Parish Bulletin 8/85)
Most Holy and Immaculate Virgin -- Mother of Jesus and our loving Mother -- with loving fervor in our hearts, we salute and honor you as "Queen of Peace". We pray that your intercession may protect us and all people from hatred and discord, and direct our hearts into the ways of peace and justice which your Son taught and exemplified.
We ask your Maternal care for our Holy Father who works to reconcile the nations in peace. We seek your guidance for our President and other world leaders as they strive for world peace. Glorious "Queen of Peace" grant us peace in our hearts, harmony in our families, and concord throughout the world. Immaculate Mother -- as Patroness of our country -- watch over us and protect us with your Motherly love.
Prayer of St. Francis
Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred,
let me sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is
doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is
darkness, light;
and where there is sadness, joy.
O Divine Master,
grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console;
to be
understood, as to understand;
to be loved, as to love;
for it is
in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned,
and it is in dying, that we are born to eternal life.
Prayer to St. Michael the Archangel
Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle; be our protection
against the wickedness and snares of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we
humbly pray; and, do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly Host -- by the power
of God --
cast into hell Satan and all evil spirits, who prowl
throughout the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Scripture Meditations
"If you do well, you can hold-up your head; but if not, sin is a demon
lurking at the door; his urge is toward you, but you can be his master."
(Genesis 4:7)
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and on your own
intelligence rely not; in all your ways be mindful of Him and He will make
straight your paths." ("Trust in the Lord with all your heart and rely not
on your own understanding; in everything you do, put God first, and He
will direct you and crown your efforts with success") (Proverbs 3:5-6)
"Behold, I am sending you out like sheep in the midst of wolves; so be
as cunning as serpents and as innocent as doves . . . When they hand you
over, do not worry about how you are to speak or what you are to say. You
will be given, at that moment, what you are to say. For it will not be
you, but the Spirit of your Father speaking thru you." (Matthew 10:16,19)
"Amen, I say unto you, if two of you agree on earth about anything for
which they are to pray, it shall be granted to them by My heavenly Father.
For where two or more of you are gathered together, in My name, there am I
in their midst." (Matthew 18:19-20)
"Where sin abounds, there grace
abounds all the more." (Romans 5:20)
"In all these things, we are more
than 'conquerors' thru Him who loved us." (Romans 8:37)
"God is
faithful and will not let you be tried beyond your strength; but with the
trial, He will also provide a way out, so that you may be able to bear
it." (1 Corinthians 10:13)
"GOD: My Grace is sufficient for you, for
power is made perfect in weakness. PAUL: I will rather boast most gladly
of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me.
Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions,
and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, it is then
that I am strong." (2 Corinthians 12:9-10)
"Indeed some might say,
'You have faith, and I have works'.Demonstrate your faith to me without
works, and I will demonstrate my faith to you from my works,. You believe
that God is One. You do well to believe that. Even the demons believe
that, and tremble." (James 2:18-19)

"For me, prayer means launching out of the heart towards God;
it means lifting up one's eye, quite simply, to heaven, a cry of grateful
love, from the crest of joy or the trough of dispair; it's a vast,
supernatural force which opens out my heart, and binds me close to Jesus."
(St. Therese of Lisieux)
