Marriage Encounter weekend get-a-ways take place about 6 times a year. Weekend dates are announced in our bulletin and the Miscellany Catholic paper. A marriage enrichment weekend for couples married from one year on up.

Nocturnal Adoration, Church office, 883-3108
Volunteers are needed for all night adoration on the Thursday night and Friday morning after midnight before the first Friday of each month.

Adult Catholic Awareness / Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults

Adult Catholic Awareness/Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults Meets after the 9:30 Mass until ll:25am on Sundays. Classes provide preparation for adults in the Sacraments of Baptism, Confirmation and Communion. Call Mike Osbourne (W)883-3108.

One of the greatest gifts you can give to another is the gift of faith. We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether God may be calling you to assist Stella Maris' parents in the formation of their children in the Catholic Faith. Lesson Plans and materials are already provided - all that is needed is a generous heart. For more information call the Director of Religious Education, Nettie Taylor.

Servants of Jesus Charismatic Prayer Group, Nancy Wiemann - 886-4550, Pat Southerland 886-3293. Meets - Wednesday, 10 a.m. Enrich your faith with a speaker, videos, Catholic teaching tapes and sharing. Pray for those in need. If you want to have special prayers offered for yourself or others, contact one of the above or place your request in the prayer box located in vestibule of Church.

High School Youth Group, Ann Thompson, youth minister 883-2116 or 607-0135. Meetings are Sunday evenings from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. Monthly youth Mass, 11:30 a.m., first Sunday of the month. Leaderhip opportunities. Service projectds with Habitat for Humanity, Youth Service Charleston, Special Olympics, and others.

Jr. High Youth Group, Ann Thompson, youth minister 883-2116 or 607-0135.
Youth in grades 6,7 & 8 are invited to register for the Jr. High youth group. Meetings are on Wednesday evenings 7:15-8:15pm. Youth Ministry and the High school Leadership Team use video, drama, music, games, scripture and prayer to share the Gospel message. Youth may also be involved with the youth Mass, retreats, trips, social events and service projects sponsored by youth ministry. Parents and other adults are always needed to volunteer to assist with events as drivers and chaperones.

High school age youth who are willing to share their time and faith with their peers are welcome! The leadership team facilitates the Wednesday night Jr. High meetings, they participate in the discipleship program, they help with the 8th grade Confirmation retreat and have opportunities to attend service projects, trips and other retreats.

Catholic Scripture Study, Nettie Taylor, 883-9040
Created for busy people, this series will help you study and understand Scripture through the lens of the Catholic Church. There will be opportunities for group discussion and personal reflection. You do not have to be a Biblical scholar; these programs are designed for both beginners and those more familiar with the Bible. Watch the bulletin for start dates.

M.O.M.S.: "Ministry of Moms Sharing", Mariann Nuss - 971-9856 or Judy Pezanowski - 509-3319
This is a wonderful ministry meeting on Thursday mornings for Moms, older and young alike. A nursery is provided.

Vacation Bible School, Nettie Taylor, 883-9040
Each summer Stella Maris offers VBS for children ages 2 years to 5th grade. VBS is a fun-filled week organized around a central theme with varied lessons every day for each age group. Everyone, both children and adults, have a wonderful time! At least 60 - 70 volunteers are needed to work as teachers, in the nursery or kitchen, and in many other areas.
