Priestly and Religious Ministry  42.23%
Discernment weekends to reach out to men and women who are contemplating a vocation are held throughout the year. The Vocations Office works toward active recruitment and enrollment. Funds help the Diocese of Charleston seminarians complete their theological education and provide critical financial aid to priests in their retirement. The BSA provides financial assistance to parishes for parish life facilitators, who provide sacramental services and actively evangelize our rural communities through their special ministries.

Social Ministry  26.05%
Outreach programs in each deanery help feed and support hundreds of people each year through Catholic Charities. The Office of Immigration helps Hispanics and other minorities make their home in South Carolina. Funds also support the work of pro-life organizations such as Birthright and S.C. Citizens for Life.

Education  14.36%
Campus Ministry is a growing area of evangelizaton for the Catholic Church. Campus ministers across the state work to build leadership qualities in the men and women who are the future of the church. The Tuition Assistance program helps elementary students gain a quality, Catholic education. BSA funds also support emergency school operating costs where needed. The
Institute for Parish Leadership Development educates men and women who are seeking a lay leadership role in their parishes.

Evangelization  11.82%
The Office of Ethnic Ministries focuses on bridging the gap between those in mainstream culture and those who feel marginalized from the church because of ethnic or cultural division. The office provides leadership development and training for youth and adults of Hispanic, Vietnamese, and African-Americans heritage. The office works with parishes and and parish leadership on sensitivity and diversity training. The Youth Ministry Office holds rallies for junior high and senior high students and runs an active leadership program.

BSA  4.23%
This reflects the administration costs of running the appeal. This includes staff, print materials, postage and all other expenses associated with running the Bishop's Stewardship Appeal.

Pastoral Administration 1.31%
Funds the Goal Sharing Endowment Program. Each parish that achieves their parish BSA goal is eligible to participate in this program. Fifty percent of the funds raised over goal is placed in an endowment in that parish's name at the diocese. These funds can be used for operating emergencies and capital improvements at the parish level.
