FURNITURE DONATIONS NEEDED
For a number of years the East
Cooper conferences of the St. Vincent DePaul Society have
operated a furniture outreach program at the ECCO Center in
Mt. Pleasant. Some of the St. Joseph’s SVDP clients
have benefited from their generosity. The furniture outreach
program has recently expanded the service by opening a facility
at St. Johns Catholic Church in North Charleston (3921 St.
Johns Ave., adjacent to the former Navy Base). The facility
is staffed on Saturday mornings 9:30-10:30 a.m. to accept
donations of furniture and household items such as linens
and sets of kitchen ware. If you have a donation and need
to have it picked up, please call the parish office at 556-4611
and a SVDP member will call you back to make the arrangements.
Clients interested in applying for a furniture grant must
call the SVDP Helpline at 727-1515.
