SECULAR FRANCISCANS

St. Francis worked diligently to rebuild the church. He turned his world around from an oppressive, violent, greedy, power-filled world into a more alive, loving and gentle one.  He did this by living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

You can do this too, because God needs YOU!

What Is the Secular Franciscan Order?
The Secular Franciscan Order (SFO) is not a club nor is it a society. We are a community of men and women in the world who seek to pattern our lives after Christ in the spirit of St. Francis. In our common response to the Gospel, we work together in community toward a deep evangelical life and toward communion with all people. We pray alone and together. We learn about Christ through the Gospels; we also learn about St. Francis, St. Clare and ourselves. We live with the Gospels as our guide reaching out to others as a result.

Qualifications For SFO

You must be a practicing Catholic in full agreement with all the teachings of the Catholic Church and not belong to any Religious Order or other Third Order group.
