St. Mary Help Of Christians Catholic Church Small Christian Communities |
|
WHAT & WHY: Small Christian Communities (SCC) are small groups of individuals with a common faith in Jesus who come together to pray, read scripture, reflect and share faith. Our purpose is to develop an attitude of prayer, a love for scripture and spiritual concern for the community at large. We learn an appreciation of prayer, and take ownership of how God acts in our lives. WHEN & WHERE: Some groups meet weekly and others seasonally,
usually seasonal meetings are once a week and last about 90 minutes. Groups gather at various locations,
mainly in the group leader's home. There are a variety of groups, some have only women and some are couples,
some meet in the morning and some in the evening. We are sure one will suit your needs!.
COMING EVENTS: The SCC has now set an agenda and speakers are being
invited for a Lenten 2004 Parish Event - Respect
Life Seminar which will incorporate some topics which
appeared as inserts in the October 2003 Church Bulletin of our parish. These inserts are also available
at the USCCB web site.
