Parish Stewardship Committee

Our Future: Tithing => Stewardship => Christian Discipleship

Envelopes: Tithing for Others = Good Samaritan Stewardship

The mission of the Stewardship Committee is to foster the spirit of sharing of our time, talent and treasure within the parish. We wish to improve hospitality, accountablility, the feeling of ownership within the parish, and our degree of service to others (outreach). And, we want to make it easier for parishioners to share their gifts. If we can accomplish this, stewardship will grow and we will not have to worry about money or sufficient volunteers to do the important work of our ministries and activities. As a result, we will significantly increase our service to others, not only within our parish, but also within our community.

In the past, our stewardship efforts have included a Ministry Fair, periodic updating of the Parish Ministries/Activities Listing, the annual Stewardship Commitment Weekend and weekly stewardship-related articles in the Sunday Bulletins. In the future, we will be considering subjects such as a Children’s Stewardship program, rebuilding the Hospitality Ministry, and contributions via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).

We recognize that fostering stewardship within a parish is a long-term effort. However, our efforts, no matter how long they take, are important because Christ has charged us to “love one another.” The New Testament has many examples of Christ, St. Peter and St. Paul charging us to use our gifts of time, talent and treasure in the service of others. Also, if we take a look around us, the need for service to others is obvious. Finally, we cannot serve Him by serving only ourselves.

VISION: Our vision is that we will have a parish that is very hospitable to it new members and visitors; that creates opportunities for prayer/worship, service to others and fellowship for all parishioners; that involves the parish family in major decisions; that gives all parishioners a feeling of ownership; that holds its management accountable; that continues to provide a school for Catholic education; and that has an impressive outreach program.
