We are a new Roman Catholic parish located in Blythewood, South Carolina in the Diocese of Charleston.  We were established on February 1, 1998 by Bishop Thompson to meet the needs of the rapidly growing Catholic Community in northeast Columbia.   A very active and enthusiastic laity involvement assures efficient pastoral operation and guarantees a place of friendliness and strong Christian involvement, togetherness, and worship.  We welcome all to join us in worship and to stay a few minutes afterwards for community fellowship.  We are truly a community where

  "Everyone Knows Your Name!"

Mission Statement

Transfiguration Catholic Church is a growing, multi-cultural parish in Northeast Columbia dedicated to Christ and the proclamation of His Gospel. Our mission as members of the Catholic Church, the Diocese of Charleston, Christ's disciples and thus co-workers in God's plans for salvation is to love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength and our neighbor as ourselves.

Vision

Our vision at Transfiguration Catholic Church is to achieve our mission with enthusiasm, faith, courage, conviction, hope, love and service.
In developing our vision we gather to celebrate the Eucharist and give thanks for God's living presence and unconditional love. By the power of the Holy Spirit, we strive to spread God's Word and minister to the needs of God's people.

Commitment

In communion with God, The Father, Son and Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to active parish involvement and participation in order that we might become an effective center of:
Prayer and Worship
Christian Formation
Evangelization
Social Outreach
Stewardship
Community Building and Fellowship
