I. Requirements

Those who consider submitting an application for the Volunteer Program must:
     - have completed 18 years of age;
     - be desirous of learning how they can live a truly Catholic commitment of their Sacraments of Baptism and Confirmation through unselfish service of God and neighbor;
     - be able to participate in community living with others who have chosen to be Volunteers of the Diocese of Charleston;
     - have the physical and mental health necessary to sustain a daily scheduled ministry of prayer, study and work. 
     - be free of any financial, family or personal obligations that would interfere with a total participation in the Volunteer Program;
     - be able and willing to make a commitment of either: 1) summer, 2) six months, 3) one year.

II. Entrance Dates

     - Long term (6 months or a year): end of January and beginning of September.
     - Short term (summer):end of May

III. Volunteer Benefits

     -youth/young adult ministry
     -parish ministry/census

     -seafarers/port ministry 
     -prison ministry 
     -home repair
